MCPSA Statement Regarding the Increase in Hate Crimes Against Asians and Asian Americans
MCPSA denounces the increased violence against Asians and Asian Americans across our country. While events in the last week reflect an increase in hate crimes, it is important to acknowledge that anti-Asian rhetoric and violence has been on the rise in our country since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There is no place for anti-Asian sentiment in our society. As other advocates have rightly said, being anti-racist requires that we also acknowledge and amplify the Asian and Asian American experience.
