Hoping to go Global

NEW BEDFORD — The Global Learning Charter Public School (GLCPS) held its enrollment lottery for grades 5 – 10 on Thursday, March 7, 2019. There were 390 families who applied to attend the school which has 88 seats available for the 2019-2020 school year.

The lottery was open to the public. Approximately 100 people were in attendance at the school’s auditorium. Families of applicants who were not able to attend the lottery will receive a letter with the results and their child’s status. Families can also call the school for more information, according to a news release.

Joe Castelo, vice president of The Castelo Group, was the community volunteer who pulled each number from the lottery basket. Each number was assigned to an applicant. As each number was pulled, it was read aloud and recorded. Each grade was pulled separately.
