Rising Tide Charter School graduates 64

PLYMOUTH – Rising Tide Charter Public School graduated 64 students from 11 South Shore towns during commencement ceremonies at the school last week.

Christopher Schelleng, chairman of the board of trustees, welcomed students and families to the May 31 ceremonies. Head of School Michael O’Keefe offered opening remarks. James Simons, Upper School principal, introduced the Class of 2019. Emma Lucy Valente of Lakeville gave the student address as senior class speaker.

The school recognized 13 graduating seniors during its Award Night on May 30. Students who were recognized are Katelyn Hart, Dance Award; Nora Rooney, Communicator (Benchmark Skill) Award and Science Award; Lucas Barone, Music Award; Robert Brodin, Investigator (Benchmark Skill) Award and Social Studies Award; Alexandra Fosco, Visual Arts Award; Caroline Schelleng, Exemplar (Benchmark Skill) Award; Anna Smith, English Award; Miranda Striar, World Language (Spanish) Award; Joseph Turner, Mathematics Award; Zachary Tympanick, Self-Directed Learner (Benchmark Skill) Award and World Language (Latin) Award; Veronica Walsh, Music Award; Owen Williams, Athletics Award; and Carla Buckley, Community Steward (Benchmark Skill) Award and Theater Award.

The 2019 Rising Tide graduates from Plymouth are Zachary Abbott, Kaitlyn Ahern, Timothy Bessette, Robert Brodin, Matthew Cahalin, Tabitha Champney, James Crowe, Heather DeCoste, Savannah DelMastro, Shane Dooney, Eamonn Doyle, Alexandra Fosco, Isabel Garcia, Callahan Gibbs, Ian Godzik, Eileen Hallisey, Clare Jankowski, Meaghan Kilgour, Alex Lewicki, Aidan Maloney, Benjamin McCarty, Samuel McCarty, Sydney McSoley, Robert Meninno, Jacob Nilosek, Meghan O’Neil, Hena Patel, Reece Perry, James Richards, Emma Riley, Caroline Schelleng, Jenna Schultz, Anna Smith, Meghan Stone, Miranda Striar, Gabriel Sytangco, Joseph Turner, Zachary Tympanick, Veronica Walsh, Raelyn Whitney, Vianna Wholey, Owen Williams, David Wu and Gabriel Zavarin.

The 2019 graduates from the other 10 towns are: Katelyn Hart, Bourne; Vincent Giacomozzi, Haley Grace and Lorcan Mahoney, Carver; William Day, Duxbury; Jordan Cargill, Luke Ellis, Ashley Kelliher, Alexa Kislauskis, Brett MacTavish and Nora Rooney, Kingston; Emma Valente, Lakeville; Emily McKale, Marshfield; Camden Benoit, Brett Carey and Amanda Davis, Middleborough; Deontae Brito, New Bedford; Lucas Barone and Gabrielle Shevalier, Pembroke; and Carla Buckley, Wareham.

Rising Tide plans to open a summer enrollment period to be closed in early September for Grades 9, 10, and 11. This enrollment period will begin on June 10. More information is available at www.risingtide.org.
