Hampden Charter School of Science (HCSS) recently welcomed Commissioner Mitchell D. Chester for a tour and luncheon. The Commissioner visited several classrooms, spending a few moments in each room to speak to both the students and teachers.
Staff, students and parents enjoyed a luncheon with Commissioner Chester. HCSS maintained its practice of great hospitality with gifts showing their appreciation for his visit. Miles Hyman, an 11th grader, presented his own framed painting and expressed gratitude on behalf of the student body for the opportunity to attend the Charter School. Commissioner Chester plays a lead role in education on the state level, and was one of the signatories of HCSS’s charter.
