PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instructional assistance across all academic areas to assigned student(s) as directed and supervised by the Director of Special Education/Director of Academic Services Academic Support Teachers and Classroom Teachers. Maintain written records of student progress as directed. Write weekly, monthly or quarterly student progress reports. Work with students who require specialized instruction in small groups under the direction of the Academic Support Teachers and Classroom Teachers. Support the integration of student(s) with disabilities in inclusive academic, social and community settings. Establish a supportive relationship with the student(s) to foster social and academic independence without encouraging intense, emotional involvements. Attend and participate in meetings during the regularly scheduled day with Academic Support Teachers and Classroom Teachers regarding the assigned student(s) as needed. Maintain confidentiality in school, home and community settings as mandated by Massachusetts regulations. Perform other duties reasonably related to the function of the job, as assigned. Participate in continual professional development opportunities as assigned by the Director of Special Education/Director of Academic Services.
