Francis W. Parker Charter Essential School seeks a creative educator to join a mission-driven, student-centered program grounded in the Ten Common Principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools. Our new colleague will serve as a member of the Math/Science/Technology (MST) team, designing instruction that engages students in critical thinking, argumentation, and scientific inquiry. MST courses are integrated courses, team-taught with a mathematics teacher to help students see the interconnectedness of math and science, so successful candidates will have a solid grounding in a particular scientific discipline, be able to engage comfortably with science topics beyond their area of expertise, and be able to support the mathematics instruction led by their partner teachers. Instruction is personalized and student-centered with a focus on application and exhibition. Students create portfolios of work and present their learning to show their readiness for promotion. In addition to team teaching, responsibilities include serving as an advisor to approximately 12 students.

MA licensure and/or completion of a teacher training program strongly preferred but not required; all candidates must pass both the subject area and literacy MTEL exams.
