Dates & Hours: July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020

  • While Saturday School is in session (23 Saturdays), hours are Tuesday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; Saturdays 8:00am-4:00pm
  • For the remainder of the year, hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5pm

Description: The Dean of Enrichment serves as the leader of the Upper School’s comprehensive enrichment programming.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):


  • Enrichment Instruction
    • Oversee development and execution of curriculum and instruction related to the upper school’s enrichment program
  • School Year Enrichment
    • Manage Academic Enrichment programming, including weekday and Saturday experiences
    • Manage Saturday School program:
      • Select teachers and develop slate of courses for each term (with input from school leadership)
      • Supervise, hire, and evaluate Saturday teachers
      • Serve as on-site administrator for all classes
      • Program Evaluation 
  • Summer Enrichment 
    • Identify, cultivate and manage strategic partnerships to extend students’ learning beyond the classroom
    • Support students in finding summer programs eligible for Codman credit
    • Update and publicize summer opportunities database
    • Work one-on-one with students to find relevant programs
    • Document enrichment credit for students
    • Issue, collect, and file enrichment credit forms
    • Manage database of enrichment credits earned
    • Create and manage partnerships with organizations to increase summer opportunities, including the Huntington Theatre Company Summer Shakespeare program
  • Recruit and supervise work study intern

Camp Merrowvista Liaison

  • Manage overall relationship with the our experiential learning and outdoor adventure partner, Camp Merrowvista
  • Design and manage all communication and logistics for the annual upper school trip to Merrowvista 
  • Support development and implementation of new Merrowvista programs (summer, Seniors, etc.)

Crew Coordinator

  • Write curriculum for Crew
  • Manage and distribute Crew curriculum
  • Oversee Crew leaders, including conducting crew observations

Academic Support

  • Manage Codman’s academic support efforts – substitutes and coverage

  • successful urban teaching experience (including successful experience with special needs students and English Language Learners)
  • demonstrated success in leadership role within a school or other non-profit

  • proven ability to work as a member of a team, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to one’s own learning
  • excellent organizational and project management skills
  • self-starter who is comfortable in a team-oriented setting
  • ability to work a flexible schedule, including 23 Saturdays
  • a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred
  • at least 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience, preferably in education
