Full Description: 

Salem Academy seeks an excellent 10th grade Chemistry teacher who is committed to raising student achievement through an integration of rigorous college preparatory classes with service to the community. 

Responsibilities

  • Teaching 4 sections of 10th grade Chemistry
  • Aligning curricular standards with state guidelines
  • Collaborating with Special Ed. and ELD teachers to support students with diverse learning needs
  • Building and maintaining strong school culture centered on achievement
  • Implementing common academic and behavioral procedures to ensure a structured, respectful, and achievement-oriented school
  • Inputting academic and behavioral data on the school data management system
  • Monitoring and analyzing student progress through standards-based assessments
  • Advising students through daily Connections class
  • Planning and leading service learning projects
  • Hosting Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences three times per year and communicating regularly with families 
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the success of the school mission
  • Participating in weekly professional development sessions (e.g., Curriculum Teams, workshops)
  • Participating in weekly Form Meetings (e.g., grade level teams)
